The Bad Astronomer Phil Plait is commenting on a rumor that NASA is to receive an additional one billion dollars in 2011 to boost the Constellation program to develop the Ares rocket for journeys to the Moon and Mars. The money would be additional to the 900 million dollars that Congress has already appropriated for NASA in the current budget.

Plait advises taking the report with a grain of salt, particular in view of problems that have developed in the Constellation program. Still if true, the report would be very good news for NASA.
